CeraVe is a globally recognized skincare line developed by dermatologists, celebrated for its unique formulation containing essential ceramides and Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology. Originally launched in the United States in 2005, the brand was created to provide accessible, medical-grade skincare solutions specifically focused on repairing and maintaining the natural skin barrier. It has since become a staple in dermatological recommendations worldwide.
In 2017, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when it was acquired by the French beauty conglomerate L'Oréal. Since then, L'Oréal has successfully expanded CeraVe's distribution into over 30 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The brand is managed under L'Oréal’s Dermatological Beauty division, which also houses other major names like La Roche-Posay and Vichy.
Manufacturing for CeraVe products takes place in several locations to meet high global demand. While much of the production remains in the United States, particularly for the North American market, L'Oréal utilizes its extensive global supply chain to manufacture products in France and other regions. This diverse manufacturing base ensures that the brand can maintain its high-quality standards while efficiently serving its international consumer base.
