This specific wine is made from 100% Susumaniello grapes, an ancient and relatively rare indigenous variety that was nearly extinct before a recent revival by local producers. The 'Antieri' label specifically identifies a high-end expression of this grape within their portfolio, classified under the Salento I.G.T. (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) designation.

The winery was founded by Lorenzo Marra and Alessandro Calabrese, who focused on preserving traditional viticulture techniques, including the use of old 'Alberello' (bush-trained) vines, some of which are over 85 years old.
