Salomon Performance Footwear

Salomon is a historic French brand established in 1947 in Annecy, originally specializing in ski equipment before expanding into high-performance outdoor footwear. Known for innovation in mountain sports, the brand has become a global leader in trail running and hiking gear.

While the brand maintains its design and engineering roots in France, its high-volume manufacturing is primarily outsourced to specialized facilities across Asia, including Cambodia, Vietnam, and China. Salomon reached its current global status through various ownership changes; it was acquired by Adidas in 1997 and later sold to Amer Sports in 2005. Today, Amer Sports is controlled by a multinational consortium led by the Chinese company Anta Sports, which took the company public in 2024.
