Outback Steakhouse is an American casual dining restaurant chain that serves American cuisine with an Australian-inspired theme. Founded in March 1988 in Tampa, Florida, by Chris T. Sullivan, Robert D. Basham, Tim Gannon, and Trudy Cooper, the brand has grown into a global presence. Although the theme is based on the Australian Outback, the brand was entirely conceived and developed in the United States.

Today, the brand is owned by Bloomin' Brands, Inc., which also manages other major restaurant concepts like Carrabba's Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill. While the core company is based in the United States, the chain operates globally through a series of franchises and corporate joints, sourcing ingredients and managing manufacturing and supply chains within the specific countries where they operate, including Brazil, South Korea, and various locations across Southeast Asia and the Americas.
