Catelli is a cornerstone of the Canadian pasta industry, with a heritage dating back to 1867 when Carlo Onorato Catelli founded the company in Montreal. For over 150 years, the brand has been synonymous with high-quality dry pasta made from non-GMO durum semolina, primarily sourced from Western Canadian farmers.
While the brand was a family-owned staple for a long time, its ownership evolved through significant acquisitions. In 2021, the Catelli brand was acquired by Barilla Group from Ebro Foods as part of a strategic deal to strengthen Barilla's presence in the North American market. Today, Catelli products continue to be manufactured locally in Canada, primarily at their facility in Montreal, ensuring that the brand maintains its deep-rooted connection to Canadian agriculture and consumers while benefiting from the global expertise of the Barilla Group.
