Hisense originated in 1969 as the Qingdao No. 2 Radio Factory in China. Over several decades, it evolved from a small radio manufacturer into a global powerhouse in the consumer electronics and home appliances industry. The brand is now recognized worldwide for its televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners, and mobile communication devices.

Manufacturing and Global Presence

While the majority of manufacturing still takes place in China, Hisense has expanded its production footprint significantly to cater to international markets efficiently. The company operates major manufacturing facilities in Mexico to serve North America, South Africa for the African continent, and Slovenia (following the acquisition of Gorenje) to supply European consumers.

The brand has gained further international prominence by acquiring established names like Gorenje and the television business of Toshiba, consolidating its position as one of the world's largest appliance manufacturers.
