The brand traces its origins to Torsång, Sweden, where it initially specialized in creating high-quality backpacks for local forestry workers. Over more than a century, it has evolved into a global leader in technical outdoor gear, including jackets, footwear, and equipment designed for harsh environments.

While the brand maintains its design and product development roots in Sweden, its manufacturing is distributed globally, primarily across Europe and Asia. In late 2023, the brand was acquired by the Hong Kong-based investment firm LionRock Capital from ASICS Corporation. This transition has positioned Haglöfs within a portfolio focused on luxury and specialist heritage brands, ensuring its continued expansion while maintaining its commitment to sustainability and Scandinavian design heritage.
