Holsten Edel is a classic brand of beer with deep roots in Northern Germany. Originally brewed by the Holsten-Brauerei, which was founded in 1879 in the Altona district of Hamburg, the brand has remained a regional favorite known for its traditional brewing methods and crisp taste.
Over the decades, the brewery underwent significant expansion. In 2004, the Holsten-Brauerei was acquired by the Carlsberg Group, a Danish multinational power house in the brewing industry. While the brand is intrinsically German in its heritage and identity, the ultimate ownership shifted to Denmark following this acquisition.
Today, Holsten Edel is primarily manufactured in Germany, specifically within the Carlsberg Deutschland production network. The brand continues to be marketed with a strong focus on its Hamburg origins, even as it operates as a key part of one of the world's largest beverage portfolios.
