Tupperware is an iconic brand of home products that includes preparation, storage, and serving solutions for the kitchen and home. It was developed in 1946 by Earl Tupper in Leominster, Massachusetts. The brand became famous for its airtight 'burping' seal and its unique direct marketing strategy known as 'Tupperware parties.'
Manufacturing takes place in various locations globally, including the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Belgium, South Africa, and several countries in Asia. While the brand faced a significant financial restructuring and bankruptcy filing in late 2024, it continues to operate under new ownership agreements focused on digitizing the brand and expanding retail presence.
As of late 2024/2025, a group of lenders (the Ad Hoc Group of Lenders) including Stonehill Capital Management and Alden Global Capital acquired the brand's assets. The company is now structured to transition from a traditional direct-sales model into a modern, omnichannel consumer goods brand.
