Site Intercept is a specialized product within the Qualtrics experience management (XM) ecosystem. Originally developed as part of the Qualtrics suite of research tools, Site Intercept was created to help organizations capture real-time feedback from website visitors through targeted prompts and surveys.
Qualtrics was founded in 2002 by Ryan Smith and Scott M. Smith in Provo, Utah. The company grew significantly as a leader in enterprise survey technology before being acquired by the German software giant SAP in 2018. However, in 2021, Qualtrics went public as a separate entity, and in 2023, it was acquired by the private equity firm Silver Lake in partnership with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
As a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product, Site Intercept is primarily developed and managed in the United States, with major engineering hubs in Provo and Seattle. The brand is managed under the Qualtrics International Inc. umbrella, which continues to serve as the ultimate owner within the Silver Lake portfolio.
