Elo Payment Card

Elo is a major Brazilian payment network founded in 2011 as a joint venture between three of the country's largest banking institutions: Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, and Caixa Econômica Federal. The brand was created to provide a domestic alternative to international payment schemes like Visa and Mastercard, tailor-made for the Brazilian market.

Today, Elo cards are manufactured by various certified card production facilities within Brazil and are accepted at millions of establishments nationwide. Through partnerships with international networks like Discover, Elo cards can also be used globally. The network continues to be managed by Elo Serviços S.A., which remains under the shared ownership of its founding financial institutions.
