Żubr Beer

Żubr is one of Poland's most iconic and popular beer brands, deeply rooted in the country's brewing tradition. Originally known as Dojlidy, the brand was rebranded as Żubr in 2003, taking its name from the European bison found in the Białowieża Primeval Forest. The beer is characterized by its light, crisp taste and its long-standing marketing campaigns that focus on the majestic nature of the bison.

Today, Żubr is brewed by Kompania Piwowarska, which operates several major breweries across Poland. The manufacturing process takes place primarily in locations such as Białystok, Poznań, and Tychy. This ensures that the product maintains its local character while benefiting from modern industrial brewing standards.

In terms of ownership, Żubr is part of the portfolio of Kompania Piwowarska, which was acquired by the Japanese beverage giant Asahi Group Holdings in 2017. As of 2024 and looking toward 2026, the brand remains centrally managed under Asahi's European division, which focuses on premiumizing international and local heritage brands. This ownership structure connects a traditional Polish product with a global distribution network and expertise.
