The 2 Euro coin is a standard denomination of the Eurozone currency, used across member states of the European Union. While the 'common side' (shown in the image) was designed by Luc Luycx of the Royal Belgian Mint and depicts a map of Europe, the reverse side is specific to the issuing country.
Manufacturing takes place at various national mints across Europe, such as the Monnaie de Paris in France or the Staatliche Münzen Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The currency is managed by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks of the Eurosystem. It is a unique example of a multinational product with no single 'owner' in a traditional corporate sense, but rather managed by intergovernmental and financial institutions based in Frankfurt, Germany.
