Syncros bicycle components

Syncros is a high-end bicycle component brand known for precision engineering and innovative design. Originally founded in Vancouver, Canada, in 1986 by Peter Hamilton and Pippin Osborne, the brand quickly established a reputation for producing durable and high-performing mountain bike parts such as stems, seatposts, and handlebars.

Over the decades, the brand underwent several ownership changes, being acquired by GT Bicycles and later becoming part of the Schwinn-GT portfolio. In 2003, it was bought by Ritchey Design. However, the most significant shift occurred in 2012 when Syncros was acquired by the Swiss cycling powerhouse Scott Sports. This acquisition integrated Syncros as the primary component supplier for Scott's high-performance road and mountain bikes.

Today, Syncros remains a flagship brand under Scott Sports, focusing on integration and aerodynamics. While the brand has Swiss leadership and design, manufacturing is primarily carried out in specialized facilities in Taiwan and China, which are global hubs for high-end cycling carbon and alloy production. The brand continues to lead in the professional cycling circuit through its ultimate owner, Scott Sports, which is itself majority-owned by the South Korean multinational Youngone Corporation.
