SSL Audio interfaces and consoles

Solid State Logic (SSL) is a world-renowned manufacturer of high-end mixing consoles and professional audio recording equipment. Founded in 1969 by Colin Sanders, the brand's roots are firmly planted in Stonerfield, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. SSL originally specialized in organ control systems before revolutionizing the music industry with its SL 4000 E Series console in the late 1970s.

Today, the brand's larger professional consoles and bespoke audio hardware continue to be engineered and manufactured in the UK. However, to remain competitive in the consumer and home studio market, many of their smaller interfaces (such as the SSL 2 and 2+) and desktop controllers are manufactured in China. Since 2017, SSL has been a part of the Audiotonix group.

Ownership transitioned from private holdings and the Peter Gabriel-led group to Audiotonix, ensuring that the legacy of British engineering continues while expanding their reach through modern manufacturing techniques and global distribution networks.
