KiMs is the most iconic snack brand in Denmark, originally founded in 1961 by Kim Hamann, whose father founded the Odense Marzipan factory. The brand quickly became a household name known for its potato chips and nuts.
Today, KiMs is produced at its main facility in Søndersø on the island of Funen, Denmark. Although it started as a Danish family-linked venture, it is now part of the large Norwegian conglomerate Orkla ASA. Orkla acquired the brand in the 1990s and manages it through its subsidiary Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Danmark, ensuring that while ownership is Norwegian, the production and identity remain deeply rooted in Danish culture.
