Turbosound is a highly respected British brand that specializes in the design and manufacture of high-end loudspeaker systems for the professional audio market. Founded in the late 1970s by Tony Andrews and Tim Isaac in the United Kingdom, the brand quickly became famous for its innovative ‘Flashlight’ and ‘Floodlight’ systems, which revolutionized live sound reinforcement for major touring acts.
Over the decades, Turbosound has undergone several changes in ownership. In 2012, the brand was acquired by Music Tribe (formerly Music Group), a global audio technology conglomerate founded by Uli Behringer. Today, while the design and engineering heritage remains rooted in European expertise, the manufacturing of most product lines is centralized at Music Tribe's massive 'Music Tribe City' production facility in Zhongshan, China, to optimize scale and global distribution.
As part of the Music Tribe portfolio, Turbosound benefits from shared research and development with other legendary brands like Midas and Lab Gruppen. This integration allows the brand to remain a staple in both fixed installations, such as theaters and clubs, and portable live sound applications worldwide.
