Metolius Mountain Products is a premier brand in the rock climbing industry, founded in 1983 by a group of passionate climbers near the Metolius River in Oregon. The company was born out of a desire to create safer and more efficient equipment that did not yet exist on the market. Their early focus on quality and innovation helped define modern climbing safety standards.

Today, Metolius remains a privately held company based in Bend, Oregon. While they outsource certain textile-based goods or components internationally, the majority of their core technical climbing equipment, including cams and specialty hardware, is still designed and manufactured at their facility in the United States. This commitment to domestic production allows them to maintain rigorous quality control over critical life-safety gear.
