While it started as a local manufacturer of cycle bags, it evolved into a world-renowned mountaineering brand before undergoing significant corporate changes in the early 2000s.

Today, Karrimor is owned by Frasers Group (formerly Sports Direct International), which acquired the brand in 2004. Under Frasers Group, the brand has transitioned from high-end specialized equipment to a more accessible range of outdoor and lifestyle clothing. Most of its manufacturing now takes place in multiple countries across Asia, such as China, Vietnam, and Indonesia, which is typical for global mass-market clothing retailers.
