Leerdammer is an iconic Dutch cheese brand known for its nutty flavor and large holes. It was originally created by the Schoonrewoerd-based company Leerdammer B.V. in the 1970s. The manufacturing remains primarily focused in the Netherlands, specifically in Schoonrewoerd, utilizing milk from cows that graze on Dutch pastures.

While originally a product of localized Dutch dairies, the brand gained international prominence under the Bel Group. In 2021, the brand was acquired by the French dairy giant Lactalis as part of an asset swap with Bel. Under the ownership of Lactalis, the world's largest dairy company, Leerdammer continues to be a market leader in the European semi-hard cheese segment while maintaining its traditional manufacturing roots in the Netherlands.
