Millet is a heritage mountaineering brand founded in 1921 in Saint-Fons, France. Originally specializing in the manufacture of canvas bags and haversacks, the brand gained international fame for equipping the first successful French expedition to Annapurna in 1950. Today, Millet is recognized globally for its high-performance technical apparel, footwear, and equipment designed for climbing, skiing, and trekking.
While the brand maintains its design and engineering headquarters in Annecy in the French Alps, its manufacturing is distributed globally across multiple countries, including Tunisia, Vietnam, and Hungary, depending on the specific technical requirements of the garment. Since 2022, Millet has returned to its roots as a family-owned business after being re-acquired from the Swiss-based Mammut Sports Group by Jean-Pierre Millet, the grandson of the original founders, alongside Inspiring Sport Capital.
