Optima Batteries is a renowned brand in the automotive industry, specifically known for its high-performance SPIRALCELL technology and AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries. The brand originated in the United States and was initially developed for aerospace applications before becoming a staple in high-end automotive, marine, and heavy-duty commercial equipment.

While the technology was pioneered by Denver-based company Gates Rubber, manufacturing operations were strategically centralized. Today, the primary production facility for Optima batteries is located in Monterrey, Mexico. This state-of-the-art facility ensures global supply while maintaining the high standards required for their trademarked RedTop, YellowTop, and BlueTop product lines.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned through major industrial mergers. Currently, Optima is a flagship brand under Clarios. Clarios was formerly known as Johnson Controls Power Solutions and is now a standalone entity owned by Brookfield Business Partners.
