AGV (Amisano Gino Valenza) is a legendary Italian motorcycle helmet brand founded in 1947 by Gino Amisano. Over the decades, it has become synonymous with competitive racing and high-performance safety standards, largely due to its association with world champion riders like Giacomo Agostini and Valentino Rossi.
While the company remains deeply rooted in Italian craftsmanship and engineering, manufacturing processes are distributed based on product lines. Higher-end models are typically crafted in Italy to maintain rigorous quality control, while certain other components and entry-level models may be sourced or assembled through international facilities.
In terms of corporate evolution, AGV was acquired in 2007 by the Italian company Dainese, bridging two iconic safety brands. Since 2022, the brand has been under the ultimate ownership of Carlyle, a global investment firm, following its acquisition of the Dainese group. This structure ensures that AGV continues to lead in carbon fiber innovation and aerodynamic design for protective headgear.
