Canyon Bicycle

Canyon Bicycles GmbH is a renowned German manufacturer headquartered in Koblenz, West Germany. Established in 1985 by brothers Roman and Franc Arnold, the brand transitioned from a supplier to a direct-to-consumer manufacturer in the late 1990s. This direct-sales model allowed the company to offer high-specification bicycles at competitive prices, making it a major player in the road, mountain, and gravel bike markets.

While Canyon maintains its engineering, design, and final assembly at its state-of-the-art facilities in Germany, the production of carbon and aluminum frames is primarily outsourced to specialized manufacturing partners in Taiwan and Vietnam. This strategy leverages high-tech manufacturing hubs in Asia while maintaining German engineering standards.

Today, Canyon is a global brand with a significant presence in professional cycling. Since 2020, the majority ownership of the company has been held by GBL (Groupe Bruxelles Lambert), a Belgian holding company. Despite various investment stakes, Roman Arnold remains an important shareholder and Chairman of the Advisory Board, ensuring the brand's original DNA remains intact as it expands through 2026 and beyond.
