Daddies is a historic British brand specializing in brown sauce and tomato ketchup. The brand's signature product, Daddies Brown Sauce, was launched in 1904 (originally as 'Daddies Favourite'), followed by its tomato ketchup in 1930. The recipe was originally developed in the late 1890s by Frederick Gibson Garton, a Nottingham grocer, before being sold to the Midland Vinegar Company in Birmingham.
Over the decades, ownership of the brand transitioned through several major corporations, including HP Foods and Groupe Danone. In 2005, the brand was acquired by H.J. Heinz as part of a major acquisition of HP Foods. Following the 2015 merger between Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz, the brand became part of the Kraft Heinz Company portfolio.
While the brand has deep British roots, its manufacturing has moved away from the United Kingdom. Following the closure of the famous Aston factory in Birmingham in 2007, production was primarily relocated to facilities in Poland and the Netherlands to optimize global supply chains, though it remains a staple condiment in the UK market.
