Live Nation is a global leader in the live entertainment industry, primarily known for concert promotion, venue management, and ticketing services. The brand's journey began in 1996 when it was founded as SFX Entertainment by Robert F. X. Sillerman in the United States. Following a series of acquisitions and corporate restructuring, it was sold to Clear Channel Communications in 2000 and eventually spun off as an independent entity named Live Nation in 2005.
In 2010, the company reached a massive milestone by merging with Ticketmaster to form Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. Today, the company operates globally, managing thousands of events and hundreds of venues across North America, Europe, and Asia. In Denmark, the brand operates through its local subsidiary, Live Nation Denmark ApS, which is a major player in the Danish music and festival scene.
Ownership is currently held by Live Nation Entertainment, Inc., a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. While it has a diverse range of shareholders, significant stakes are held by institutional investors such as Liberty Media Corporation and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
