Raffaello is a premium spherical confection introduced in 1990 by the Italian company Ferrero. Designed to evoke the elegance of traditional Italian pastry-making (Pasticceria Italiana), it is uniquely distinguished from typical chocolates by its lack of a cocoa-based chocolate coating. Instead, it features a blanched whole almond at its core, surrounded by a smooth milk-based cream and a delicate wafer shell, all coated in shredded coconut flakes.
Since its launch, the brand has remained under the ownership of the Ferrero Group, one of the world's largest confectionery manufacturers. While the brand has deep Italian roots and was developed in the town of Alba, its production is global. Major manufacturing hubs include Ferrero's facilities in Alba (Italy), Arlon (Belgium), Vladimir (Russia), and Brantford (Canada). The product has also expanded into other formats, including chocolate bars and ice cream, while maintaining its signature coconut and almond flavor profile.
