Winiary is a legendary Polish food brand with a history dating back to 1941. It was originally established by Alfred Nowacki in the Kalisz district of Winiary, from which it takes its name. Initially, the factory specialized in bouillon cubes and dried vegetable seasonings, becoming a staple in Polish households. During World War II, the factory played a significant role in the local resistance movement, with Nowacki employing members of the Home Army to protect them.

In the post-war era, the company was nationalized and became one of Poland's most prominent food processing enterprises. However, following the economic transitions of the 1990s, the Swiss multinational Nestlé began acquiring shares in the company. By 1994, Winiary became a part of the Nestlé group, and by the early 2000s, it was fully integrated as a subsidiary.

Today, Winiary products, including this BBQ sauce, are primarily manufactured at the company's major production facility in Kalisz, Poland. While the brand maintains its distinct Polish identity and traditional recipes that resonate with local consumers, its ultimate ownership and strategic direction are overseen by Nestlé from its global headquarters in Switzerland.
