MG, which stands for Morris Garages, is an iconic automotive brand with deep roots in British motoring history. Founded in 1924 by Cecil Kimber in Oxford, England, the brand became legendary for its lightweight sports cars and racing heritage. After several changes in ownership throughout the 20th century, the brand was acquired by the Chinese state-owned automotive giant SAIC Motor Corporation in 2007, following the collapse of MG Rover.

Today, MG functions as a global brand that bridges British design heritage with Chinese manufacturing scale and technological innovation. While the vehicles are designed and engineered with significant input from the MG Motor UK Technical Centre in Longbridge, Birmingham, the physical production is primarily centered in China. Key manufacturing plants are located in Shanghai, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, and Ningde. To serve diverse international markets, MG also operates production facilities in Thailand, India, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
