Swaine London, established in 1750, is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious luxury goods brands. Originally founded as a whip-maker in London by John Ross and later acquired by James Swaine, the brand has spent over two centuries catering to the British Royal Family and global elite. Its leather goods are renowned for their 'Quiet Luxury' aesthetic, combining traditional English craftsmanship with timeless design.
Today, the brand's production remains deeply rooted in the UK. Many of its signature leather items are handcrafted in a dedicated workshop located directly above its flagship store on New Bond Street in London, while other products are manufactured in its facility in Cambridgeshire. This commitment to local, artisanal production ensures that each piece, from the iconic James Bond-style attaché cases to modern folios, maintains the high standard of British workmanship for which the brand is famous.
In recent years, the company underwent a significant evolution. Formerly known as Swaine Adeney Brigg, it was rebranded simply to Swaine London following its acquisition by the French conglomerate Chargeurs Group (specifically Compagnie Chargeurs Invest) in 2021. Under the leadership of CEO Carine de Koenigswarter, the brand is expanding its international footprint while preserving its heritage as a quintessential British institution.
