Versace Man Eau Fraîche is a popular men's fragrance known for its Mediterranean and aquatic profile. It was launched in 2006, created by master perfumer Olivier Cresp as a fresher, lighter reinterpretation of the original Versace Man. The scent is characterized by top notes of lemon, bergamot, and star fruit, making it a staple in the luxury grooming market.
Historically, the brand Versace was founded by Gianni Versace in 1978 in Milan, Italy. Following his tragic passing in 1997, the company remained under the control of the Versace family, with Donatella Versace serving as the long-time creative lead. In late 2018, the brand was acquired by Michael Kors Holdings (which subsequently became Capri Holdings).
In a significant shift for the luxury industry, the Prada Group acquired Versace from Capri Holdings in 2025. As of 2026, Versace operates as a key brand within the Prada Group's portfolio, with manufacturing primarily centralized in Italy to maintain its heritage of craftsmanship and quality. Fragrance production continues to be managed in collaboration with industry specialists like Euroitalia, while falling under the broader corporate umbrella of the Prada Group.
