Lipton Original Sparkling Ice Tea Lemon

Lipton Sparkling Ice Tea is a refreshing, low-calorie carbonated version of the iconic tea drink, featuring a blend of real tea extract and lemon juice. The Lipton brand has a rich heritage dating back to 1871, when Sir Thomas Lipton opened his first grocery shop in Glasgow, Scotland. By 1890, he expanded into the tea trade by purchasing estates in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) to make tea affordable for everyone.

In terms of ownership, the brand's history is complex. While the traditional leaf tea business was sold by Unilever to CVC Capital Partners (forming a new entity called Lipton Teas and Infusions) in 2022, the Ready-to-Drink (RTD) bottled tea products, like the one pictured, remain under the Pepsi Lipton Tea Partnership. This is a long-standing 50/50 joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo.

Manufacturing of these beverages is decentralized to leverage PepsiCo's vast global bottling network. Consequently, the product is produced in various countries across Europe and other regions to serve local markets efficiently. In Spain and other European countries, it is often bottled by local PepsiCo franchised partners.
