Audeze headphones

Audeze is a premier manufacturer of high-end audio equipment, specifically renowned for its planar magnetic headphone technology. Founded in 2008 by Sankar Thiagasamudram and Alexander Rosson in a Southern California garage, the brand was inspired by the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The company initially focused on adapting flexible circuit materials developed for NASA into high-fidelity audio drivers.

Audeze maintains a strong commitment to domestic manufacturing. All of their high-end planar magnetic and electrostatic drivers are engineered and built at their factory in Santa Ana, California. While the flagship LCD series and professional monitors are hand-assembled in the United States, certain entry-level or gaming-focused products, such as the Mobius series, may involve assembly or components sourced from China to reach broader market segments.

In August 2023, Audeze was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), the division behind the PlayStation brand. Despite this acquisition, Audeze continues to operate as an independent subsidiary, maintaining its own brand identity and developing multi-platform products for audiophiles and professionals alike while leveraging Sony's vast resources to scale its innovations.
