In the early 1990s, the ready-to-drink (RTD) side of the business took a major leap forward through a strategic partnership between Unilever and PepsiCo. While the traditional leaf tea business was sold by Unilever to CVC Capital Partners in 2022 (rebranding as Lipton Teas and Infusions), the bottled Lipton Ice Tea remains part of the Pepsi Lipton International joint venture.

In the Romanian market, Lipton Ice Tea is a staple of the soft drink category. It is bottled locally through PepsiCo's production network, utilizing tea extracts sourced from sustainable plantations globally. The raspberry-flavored variant (Gust de Zmeură) is specifically tailored to regional tastes and packaged in 100% recycled plastic (rPET) bottles as part of the brand's modern sustainability commitments.
