Robens

Robens is a prestigious outdoor equipment brand specializing in high-performance camping gear, most notably tents, sleeping bags, and mats designed for technical outdoor use. The brand was founded in 1973 by Klaus Robens and his wife in Wentorf, Germany. Operating initially as a small family business out of their home, it grew rapidly due to a commitment to quality and technical expertise, leading to a major expansion in the late 1980s through a partnership with industrial designer Olaf Bracht.

In 2000, Robens was acquired by the Danish company Oase Outdoors. While the brand retains its German heritage in design and technical philosophy, its research, development, and rigorous testing—including wind and rain simulation—are now centered at the Oase Outdoors headquarters in Give, Denmark. Manufacturing takes place primarily in the Far East to maintain competitive pricing, supported by a long-standing branch office in Shanghai that ensures quality control across its production lines.
