DBS (Den Beste Sykkel) is a legendary Norwegian bicycle brand with roots dating back to 1892, when it was founded by Jonas Øglænd in Sandnes, Norway. The brand name 'DBS' was officially adopted in 1932 following a public competition. For much of the 20th century, DBS was the dominant force in the Norwegian market, at one point holding a 90% market share and producing iconic models like the Apache and Kombi.

While the brand remains deeply tied to its Norwegian heritage, its ownership and manufacturing have changed significantly. In 1989, the brand was acquired by the Swedish company Monark, and since 1996, it has been part of Cycleurope AB, a major international cycling group. In 1999, domestic manufacturing in Norway ceased due to global competition. Today, while design and product development still take place in Oslo, Norway, the bicycles are manufactured in various locations across Europe, including Cycleurope's facilities in Sweden and other international sites.
