The brand was originally established in the early 21st century, with its name roughly translating to 'Prague girl.' Despite its name, the beer is not brewed in Prague but in the historic town of Rakovník.

The product is manufactured at the Tradiční pivovar v Rakovníku (Traditional Brewery in Rakovník), one of the oldest breweries in the Czech Republic with a history dating back to 1454. The brewing process adheres to traditional Czech methods, including double decoction mashing and open-vat fermentation, followed by extensive lagering periods. The brand's ownership has a unique international connection, having been developed and owned by the Russian Tradition group (now SuperBeer) to cater to the demand for authentic Czech-style lagers across Europe and Russia.
