Crest is a cornerstone brand in the global oral hygiene market, originally developed through a research program at Indiana University in the 1940s and launched by Procter & Gamble in 1955. It gained historic significance as the first toothpaste to be clinically proven and accepted by the American Dental Association (ADA) for its cavity-fighting fluoride formula.
Today, the brand is owned and operated by the American multinational consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble (P&G). While headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Crest's manufacturing network is extensive. For the North American market, products are primarily manufactured in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Guanajuato, Mexico. The Pro-Health line, which includes the Gum Detoxify variant, leverages advanced stannous fluoride technology to provide comprehensive gum protection and plaque neutralization.
