Waken Kids Watermelon Toothpaste is a specialised oral care product designed for children aged 3 to 12. Launched in early 2026 as an extension of the Waken brand, this toothpaste focuses on providing a gentle, mint-free alternative to traditional 'spicy' toothpastes. It uses a natural watermelon flavour to reduce sensory resistance in children and includes 1450ppm of fluoride to protect against cavities and strengthen developing enamel.
The brand was founded in 2019 by Simon Duffy and Rhodri Ferrier, the entrepreneurs originally responsible for the successful Bulldog Skincare brand. Waken was created with a mission to disrupt the oral care industry by offering products that are both effective and aesthetically pleasing, while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability. The packaging often utilizes recycled materials, such as mono-material tubes or recycled aluminium, and is designed to look modern and refined on the bathroom shelf.
While the brand is headquartered in London, its manufacturing footprint is international. Some product variants are produced in the United Kingdom, while others, specifically certain toothpaste lines, have been identified as being manufactured in Lithuania. The brand has grown rapidly since its inception, securing significant crowdfunding and expanding its distribution to major UK retailers like Tesco, Boots, and Waitrose, as well as international markets in Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia.
