Morrisons Tinned Tomatoes

Morrisons tinned tomatoes are a private-label product of the British supermarket chain Wm Morrison Supermarkets Limited. While Morrisons is well-known for its vertical integration and manufacturing a large portion of its fresh food in the UK, its shelf-stable canned tomato range is primarily sourced from Italy. This includes various formats such as chopped, plum, and organic tomatoes, often packed in concentrated tomato juice. The sourcing strategy ensures the use of sun-ripened Italian tomatoes, which are a staple for UK consumers.

Historically a family-run public company based in Bradford since 1899, Morrisons underwent a significant structural change in October 2021 when it was acquired by the American private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R). This acquisition delisted the company from the London Stock Exchange, moving it into private ownership. Despite this shift in ultimate ownership to a US-headquartered firm, Morrisons continues to operate as a distinctly British retailer with its corporate headquarters and primary logistics operations remaining in West Yorkshire.
