Sensodyne Bamse tandkräm is a specialized children's toothpaste developed for milk teeth (ages 0-6). The brand combines the trusted dental science of Sensodyne with the popular Swedish cartoon character Bamse ('The World's Strongest Bear'), which makes it a staple in Scandinavian households.
While the Bamse character is a Swedish cultural icon created by Rune Andréasson, the toothpaste itself is a product of the multinational consumer healthcare company Haleon. Following the demerger from GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) in 2022, Haleon took over the management and ownership of the Sensodyne portfolio. The product is primarily manufactured in Slovakia, which serves as a key production hub for Haleon's oral care products distributed throughout Europe.
Ownership of the brand name 'Bamse' for licensing remains with the Swedish media group Story House Egmont, but the pharmaceutical formulation and global distribution rights for the toothpaste under the Sensodyne name are held by Haleon. This partnership allows for a high-quality fluoride toothpaste that is both effective for dental health and appealing to children through local cultural branding.
