Gutmann Hefeweizen is a traditional Bavarian wheat beer produced by Brauerei Gutmann, a family-owned brewery located in Titting, Germany. The brewery is housed in a historic moated castle (Wasserschloss Titting) that has a brewing legacy dating back to 1707, when it was established by Prince-Bishop Johann Anton I Knebel von Katzenellenbogen.
The Gutmann family acquired the brewery in 1855 through Michael Gutmann and has maintained ownership for over six generations. The brand is renowned for its artisanal brewing techniques, such as open-vat fermentation and secondary fermentation in the bottle with fresh yeast, which contributes to its distinct cloudy appearance and complex aroma. Today, the brewery remains independent and is a significant regional specialty brand in the Altmühltal Nature Park region of Bavaria.
