Planted is a Swiss food technology company that has rapidly become a leader in the European plant-based meat market. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, the brand focuses on 'clean-label' products made with only natural ingredients and no additives. Their product line, which includes plant-based chicken, pulled pork, kebab, and steak, is created using a proprietary biostructuring and fermentation process that mimics the fibrous texture and juiciness of animal muscle.

Manufacturing primarily takes place at the company's state-of-the-art 'glass-house' production facility in Kemptthal, Switzerland. This facility is notable for being transparent and open to the public, allowing visitors to see the production process first-hand. To keep up with growing European demand, Planted expanded its operations in 2024 by opening a second modern production site in Memmingen, Germany. The company remains an independent, founder-led startup, having successfully raised significant venture capital to fuel its international expansion across Europe and the UK.
