The Tefal Snack Collection is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for making a wide range of snacks, from waffles and toasted sandwiches to paninis and pancakes, through its system of interchangeable plates. Originally founded in 1956 in Sarcelles, France, by engineer Marc Grégoire, Tefal revolutionized the kitchen with the invention of the non-stick frying pan. The name itself is a portmanteau of 'Teflon' and 'Aluminium.'
While Tefal maintains a strong manufacturing presence in France, particularly for its world-famous non-stick cookware at its historic Rumilly site, its electrical appliances like the Snack Collection are typically manufactured in China to leverage global supply chain efficiencies. Since 1968, the brand has been owned by Groupe SEB, a French multinational and a global leader in small domestic equipment. In North America, the brand is marketed as T-fal due to trademark considerations with the Teflon name.
