Scottish Blend is a well-known tea brand specifically engineered to complement the soft water found throughout Scotland. Launched in 1990, it was the first tea of its kind to address the chemical profile of local water, ensuring a consistent and flavorful brew that avoids the bitterness often associated with standard blends in soft-water regions. It quickly became one of the most popular tea brands in the country, often cited as Scotland's second favorite tea.

Originally developed and launched by Unilever, the brand was part of a major strategic shift in the early 2020s. In 2021, Unilever carved out its tea division into a standalone entity called Ekaterra. This division was subsequently sold to the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners in 2022. Following the acquisition, the company was renamed Lipton Teas and Infusions, which now oversees the brand's production and global distribution. Despite the change in ownership, the tea continues to be primarily manufactured in the United Kingdom to maintain its heritage and quality standards.
