Eesy is a Danish digital-only mobile operator launched in September 2020. It was created by Nuuday (now known as TDC Brands) to address the market's need for a simple, low-cost mobile solution without binding periods or hidden fees. The brand operates entirely online, offering straightforward subscriptions that utilize the TDC NET infrastructure, which is widely regarded as one of Denmark's most reliable 4G and 5G networks.
Historically, the brand was part of the TDC Group, Denmark's largest telecommunications company. In 2018, TDC Group was delisted and taken private by a consortium led by the Australian investment firm Macquarie Asset Management alongside Danish pension funds. By 2021, the group underwent a significant "surgical split" into two independent entities: TDC NET (managing infrastructure) and Nuuday (managing services and customer brands including Eesy, YouSee, and Telmore).
As of 2026, the ultimate ownership profile has shifted significantly. In late 2025, Macquarie Asset Management moved to acquire the remaining 50% stake from its pension fund partners (ATP, PFA, and PKA), effectively taking full control of the TDC Group and its subsidiaries. Additionally, in April 2026, the parent company Nuuday officially rebranded as TDC Brands to better reflect its heritage and unity under the well-known TDC name. Eesy remains an active, high-growth budget brand within this portfolio.
