Maoam Pinballs are a popular chewy confectionery product known for their signature "zingly tingly" center and fruit-flavored exterior. The brand's history dates back to 1900 when German entrepreneur Edmund Münster took over the "Düsseldorfer Lakritzenwerk" liquorice factory. In the early 1930s, Münster acquired a foreign license to produce a unique fruity chew, which he branded as "MAOAM"—an abbreviation of the German phrase "Mundet allen ohne Ausnahme," meaning "tastes good to everyone without exception."

In 1986, the brand reached a turning point when it was acquired by the global confectionery giant Haribo. Since then, Maoam has expanded its offerings significantly, with the Pinballs variety becoming a standout success, particularly in markets like the United Kingdom and across Europe. Today, Maoam is synonymous with high-quality chewy treats and remains a core pillar of Haribo's international brand portfolio.

While production was originally based in Düsseldorf and later Neuss, Germany, Haribo's massive global manufacturing network now supports the brand. Most Maoam products continue to be made in Germany, though they are distributed globally by Haribo's various regional subsidiaries.
