BENU is a conceptual writing instrument brand known for its bold, vibrant, and unconventional fountain pens. Founded in January 2016 by Alex Semanin and Kate Dmitrieva, the brand was originally established in Russia. However, following the geopolitical shifts in 2022, the company made the strategic decision to relocate its entire operations, including design and manufacturing, to Yerevan, Armenia.
Today, BENU pens are handcrafted in the company's own production facilities in Armenia. The brand is distinguished by its in-house resin production, where they create unique color compositions and finishes—often featuring glitter, foils, and pearlescent effects—that are never sold as raw blanks to other manufacturers. While most of the body components are made in Armenia, the brand sources high-quality nibs from specialized German manufacturers like Schmidt, JoWo, or Bock to ensure a premium writing experience.
