Vibram high-performance rubber soles

Vibram is an iconic Italian brand established in 1937 by Vitale Bramani, a mountain guide who invented the first vulcanized rubber lug sole after a tragic climbing accident in the Alps. The brand name itself is a portmanteau of the founder's first and last names (Vi-Bram). Since its inception, Vibram has become the global standard for high-performance outsoles, recognized by its distinct yellow octagon logo.

Originally supported by the Pirelli Tire Company for the production of its first 'Carrarmato' soles, Vibram remains a privately held family-run company headquartered in Albizzate, Italy. Under the stewardship of the Bramani family, the brand has expanded its operations worldwide. Manufacturing now takes place across multiple continents to meet the demands of over 1,000 partner footwear brands. Primary production facilities are located in Italy, the United States (following the acquisition of the Quabaug Corporation), China, Brazil, and the Czech Republic. In addition to supplying soles, the company produces its own finished goods, such as the Vibram FiveFingers and Furoshiki minimalist footwear lines.
