Bionade Iced Tea Peach

Bionade is a pioneering brand of organic fermented soft drinks that originated in the Bavarian town of Ostheim vor der Rhön, Germany. Invented by master brewer Dieter Leipold in the early 1990s at the Privatbrauerei Peter, the brand was built on a unique biological fermentation process that turns sugar into gluconic acid, following traditional beer purity laws but resulting in a non-alcoholic beverage. This specific variant, Bionade Iced Tea Peach, was launched around 2024 as the brand expanded from its classic soda range into the popular iced tea category, maintaining its commitment to 100% organic ingredients and lower sugar content.

Throughout its history, the brand has seen several ownership changes. After achieving cult status in the mid-2000s, the founding Kowalsky and Leipold families eventually sold their shares to the Radeberger Group (part of Dr. Oetker). Since January 1, 2018, Bionade has been fully owned by the Hassia Group (Hassia Mineralquellen), a family-owned German beverage company with a long tradition in mineral water and soft drinks. The product continues to be manufactured at its original site in Ostheim, emphasizing its regional roots and sustainable production methods.
